The 2024 AONL annual conference was truly inspirational. I found myself working with a group of other nurse consultants and entrepreneurs where we shared a booth in the exhibit hall and started advertising for ourselves and each other. It was amazing to see such incredible collaboration as opposed to competition among us. When we told participants that we were all recovering nurse execs/leaders trying to help other nurse leaders, the response was immediate empathy and interest. This experience has taught me that leading with authenticity draws the right people into your work and personal life. It also demonstrated how much other nurse leaders need each other in these challenging times!
